Friends of HMCS HAIDA is a registered charitable organization formed in 1989. While we work cooperatively with Parks Canada to assist in the preservation and maintenance of HMCS HAIDA as a historic ship, naval memorial and a national historic site, we receive no government funding and rely entirely on memberships and donations from Canadians who believe, as we do, that preserving Canadas naval history and heritage is important.
All the activities that Friends of HMCS HAIDA engage in are funded by memberships and donations. Our members and donors, some of them Naval veterans, some with no naval experience at all, share a common belief that it is important to all Canadians, young and old, to not only preserve Canadian history and heritage but to ensure that Canadians know about it. Your generous donations make our work possible!

How do I get a donation receipt so I can claim my tax
Canada Helps produces e-tax receipts for all donations made through the website. This e-tax receipt is fully approved by the Canada Customs and Revenue Agency. You can receive your e-tax receipt as soon as your transaction is processed (generally within 2 business days) or choose to have it sent to you at the end of the year. They will send you an image file as an attachment to an email. You can open and print the receipt using Adobe Acrobat Reader. If you don’t have a printer, you can save your e-tax receipt to disk and take it to a copy shop to have it printed out. Canada Helps will send us your donation information so that we can keep track of you and ensure you still receive all the benefits of membership.
